Prostamax 20MG (Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro / KEDP tetrapeptide, H-Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro-OH) is a synthetic short peptide bioregulator for peptide-DNA interaction and transporter docking research. Mixed-charge peptides including KEDP changed DNA melting temperature, and in docking KEDP ranked second of 26 short peptides at the PEPT1 binding site. Supplied as 20 mg of lyophilized powder in a sealed glass vial. CAS 473578-47-1.

Prostamax (H-Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro-OH, also called Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro, KEDP, the KEDP tetrapeptide and the Prostamax bioregulator; CAS 473578-47-1) is a synthetic tetrapeptide built from four L-amino acids. It belongs to the family of short peptides, two to seven amino acid residues long, that are studied for how they interact with DNA and histone proteins (Khavinson et al., 2021). Prostamax is a peptide rather than a single amino acid, and Modern Aminos lists it as a research chemical: a defined sequence with its own PubChem record (CID 9848296). It shares its first three residues, Lys-Glu-Asp, with Livagen (Lys-Glu-Asp-Ala); the two differ only at the C-terminus, where Prostamax carries Proline.
In DNA melting-temperature measurements, acidic amino acids weakened the hydrogen bonds between DNA strands and basic amino acids strengthened them, and short peptides containing both kinds of residue, KEDP among them, also changed double-helix stability (Solovyev et al., 2015, PubMed 25841380). At the molecular level, Prostamax is a mixed-charge peptide: one basic Lysine and two acidic residues, Glutamic acid and Aspartic acid, capped by a C-terminal Proline.
Batch-verified at Modern Aminos, Prostamax is supplied in one laboratory format:

Prostamax is a peptide: specifically a tetrapeptide, four amino acids joined by three peptide bonds in the order L-Lysine, L-Glutamic acid, L-Aspartic acid, L-Proline (Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro, or KEDP in one-letter code). Its building blocks are amino acids, but the linked chain is a peptide with its own formula, C20H33N5O9, and its own PubChem record, CID 9848296.
Yes. Modern Aminos lists Prostamax as a research chemical: a defined synthetic tetrapeptide with a PubChem record (CID 9848296), a CAS number (473578-47-1) and a third-party certificate. It is supplied only as a lyophilized powder in a sealed glass vial, and the published work on its sequence focuses on peptide-DNA chemistry and transporter docking.
Chemically, Prostamax is made of four L-amino acids: L-Lysine, L-Glutamic acid, L-Aspartic acid and L-Proline, linked head to tail with a free amine at the Lysine end and a free carboxylic acid at the Proline end. PubChem writes the sequence as H-Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro-OH.
The documented partners are double-stranded DNA and, in computer docking, peptide and amino acid transporters. Mixed-charge peptides including KEDP changed DNA melting temperature (Solovyev et al., 2015), and docking ranked KEDP second of 26 short peptides at the PEPT1 binding site (Khavinson et al., 2023).
By one residue. Both start with Lys-Glu-Asp, but Prostamax ends in Proline (KEDP, C20H33N5O9, 487.5 g/mol) and Livagen ends in Alanine (KEDA, C18H31N5O9, 461.5 g/mol). In the 2023 docking survey, KEDP scored better at PEPT1 (−33.42 vs. −16.70) and KEDA scored better at LAT1 (−28.83 vs. −22.79).
Vilon is the dipeptide Lys-Glu, which forms the first two residues of Prostamax. Docking of Lys-Glu against DNA gave a stronger calculated interaction energy than its free amino acids, which the authors credited to the peptide bond (Khavinson et al., 2015). Prostamax extends that pair with Asp and Pro.
Lysine carries a side-chain amine and, with the free N-terminal amine, supplies the basic groups. Glutamic acid and Aspartic acid each carry a carboxylic acid side chain, and the C-terminal Proline adds a third carboxyl group. PubChem’s computed properties reflect a highly polar molecule: XLogP3 of −9, 11 hydrogen-bond acceptors and a topological polar surface area of 242 square angstroms.
Modern Aminos offers one format: 20 mg of lyophilized powder in a sealed glass vial. A capsule or liquid format is not offered for this listing.
In the same 2023 survey, Pinealon (Glu-Asp-Arg) scored best of all 26 peptides at both LAT1 and PEPT1, Prostamax was second at PEPT1, and Bronchogen (Ala-Glu-Asp-Leu) ranked 6th at PEPT1 and 20th at LAT1 (Khavinson et al., 2023). All applicable tests are performed on our products. The current third-party Freedom Diagnostics Testing certificate is published in the Certificate of Analysis tab, and upcoming batches receive expanded testing across two ISO-certified labs, covering Sterility, Identity, Purity, Endotoxin, Heavy Metals, Mass, Residual Solvents, Fentanyl and Conformity.
